Sales Manager

Reporting Locations: TNW Corporate Office in Dallas, Texas

The Sales Manager is responsible for creating and implementing successful sales strategies that will deliver revenue growth. This position will provide frontline interface with growth  opportunities from existing customers, new customers, and strategic partnerships. Strong  communication and people skills are a must.


Reports directly to Director of Sales.

Position Summary

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  

  • Work is mainly performed in an office environment and in the field. Travel to company  locations, customers, trade shows, trade organizations, and vendor sites will be required.  

  • Occasional work in outdoor operations environment  

  • Walking, standing, sitting, and balancing are frequent activities

Working Conditions

• Safety equipment and personal protective equipment must be worn when and where  needed  

• Willing to submit to pre-employment background verification  

• Willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and physical

Special Requirements

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Actively seek and secure new customer accounts to drive revenue growth and expand  market presence  

• Conduct extensive prospecting activities, including cold calls, networking, and leveraging  social media to generate leads and build a robust pipeline  

• Create and propose creative products or service packages tailored to meet customer needs  and differentiate our offerings within the industry  

• Consistently meet or exceed defined key performance metrics on a monthly and quarterly  basis  

• Monitor industry trends and market activities to identify opportunities for growth and  inform strategic planning  

• Support and maintain sales processes, tools, and systems to improve department efficiency  and effectiveness 

• Develop and implement specific and targeted sales goals and plans  

• Effectively organize and lead client/prospect meevngs 

• Establish new opportunities through trucking and logistics companies that can partner with TNW and leverage rail for mutual growth  

• Collaborate with senior leadership and the business development team to leverage TNW’s  current and future assets for growth  

• Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing  on market opportunities 

• Craft, negotiate and close high-value deals, ensuring customer satisfacvon and long-term  partnerships  

• Compliance with TNW Core Values and alignment with Strategic Pillars  

• Maintain detailed and organized files, contract data and information systems, including utilizavon of CRM  

• Protect TNW’s value by keeping key data confidential 


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:  

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field  

• Minimum of two years’ experience working in a sales role  

• Railroad, transportation, and/or logistics services industry experience preferred  

• Sales experience in a small to mid-sized company preferred


KEY SKILLS:  

• Ability to set performance metrics and achieve weekly/monthly/quarterly key performance  metrics  

• Demonstrate knowledge of railroad market data and access to resources to quickly respond  to new developments in the customer’s business  

• Have developed Excel skills and competency in handling data analyƟcs to aid sales and  forecasting 

• Ability to learn new technologies and willingness to communicate using each customer’s  preferred communication channel: digital, virtual or in-person  

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively 

• Ability to think strategically and accomplish quarterly and yearly sales goals  

• Demonstrate proven decision-making skills and solid judgment  

• A servant leader who supports their team and the organization while getting goals accomplished  

• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills, including tact and  diplomacy  

• Efficient time management skills and detail oriented 

• Be self-directed and able to multitask 

• Ability to analyze reports and data  

• Positive attiude, strong work ethic, and passion for managing projects to conclusion on time  

• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, creating spreadsheets and presentations  


Licenses and Certifications:  

• Current driver’s license with clear driving record and no restricvons. Must have the ability to  operate company vehicles, rent vehicles, and the ability to drive long distances.  


Availability:  

• Full-time position  

• Must be able to travel 30%- 40%
